Recycling
Corrugated fiberboard is the most recycled form of packaging today, with the average box consisting of 43% recycled fiber, and 78.3% of all containers produced being recovered for recycling (25.2 million tons), up from 76.3% in 2006. (AF&PA)
  • Since 1965, Badger Packaging has been recycling 100% of its scrap corrugated.
  • Since 1990, Badger Packaging has been using only water based (Flexo) inks in its printing process.
  • Badger Packaging is active in the recycling and reuse of pallets, with exchange programs in place with many of its customers.
  • In addition to materials typical of our industry, Badger Packaging can also provide a 100% recycled board in addition to cost effective and sustainable alternatives to foam like Korrvu®
In addition to the initiatives above, Badger Packaging has always done its best to be a responsible steward by installing high efficiency parabolic reflective fluorescent lighting in both office and plant, recycling all fluorescent tubes, office waste, oil and solvents, and remixing unused ink into black for jobs that only require a class stamp.
Renewable Resource
More wood grows in our nation’s forests than is harvested (about 49 percent more), documenting wood fiber as a renewable resource. (USDA Forest Service)

The forest products industry plants 1.7 million new trees every day, contributing to the long-term viability of North American forests, preserving wildlife habitats, sequestering carbon dioxide and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions. (SFI)

The amount of standing timber in the U.S. has increased by 39 percent since 1952, and by 10 million acres between 1987 and 2002. (AF&PA)

Sourced responsibly with 93% of corrugated boxes supplied by Sustainable Forestry Initiative program participants. SFI program participants are committed to sustainable forestry on their own forests, and are required by the SFI Standard (SFIS) to encourage their suppliers to practice sustainable forestry.
